Vietnam launched the second anti-dumping sunset review investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel in China

On October 23, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Resolution 2752/QD-BCT to launch the second anti-dumping sunset review investigation on cold-rolled stainless steel products originating in Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, China, Malaysia and Indonesia. This case involves products under Vietnamese tax codes 7219.32.00, 7219.33.00, 7219.34.00, 7219.35.00, 7219.90.00, 7220.20.10, 7220.20.90, 7220.90.10, and 7220.90.90.
Stakeholders should register their responses before January 16, 2024.

On July 9, 2013, Vietnam conducted anti-dumping investigations on cold rolled stainless steel products originating in Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, China, Malaysia and Indonesia. On October 5, 2014, Vietnam officially imposed anti-dumping duties on cold-rolled stainless steel products from the aforementioned countries/regions. In October 2018, Vietnam launched its first anti-dumping sunset review investigation against the products involved in the above-mentioned countries/regions. On October 21, 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam made the first final antidumping sunset review on the products involved in the above countries/regions, and continued to impose anti-dumping duties on the enterprises involved, of which 17.94% were Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. and Tisco Stainless Steel (H.K.) Limited in Chinese Mainland, and 31.85% were other producers/exporters in Chinese Mainland; 37.29% of enterprises involved in the case in Taiwan, China, China; Bahru Stainless Sdn. Bhd and Acerinox SC Malaysia Sdn. Bhd, Malaysian companies, account for 11.09%, while other Malaysian companies involved account for 22.69%; Indonesian Enterprise PT Jindal Stainless Indonesia accounts for 10.91%, while other Indonesian companies involved account for 25.06%. The resolution came into effect on October 26, 2019, with a validity period of 5 years.
