In December 2023, the crude steel production of 43 stainless steel plants in China was 2.963 million tons, a decrease of 0.7% month on month and 3% year-on-year. Among them:

The 200 series produced 878000 tons, a decrease of 10.3% month on month and 12.0% year-on-year;

300 series 1.627 million tons, an increase of 9.1% month on month and 3.5% year-on-year;

The 400 series produced 458000 tons, a decrease of 10.8% month on month and 5.4% year-on-year.

In January 2024, domestic production was 2.744 million tons, a decrease of 7.4% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 15%. Among them:

The 200 series produced 731000 tons, a decrease of 16.7% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 22.2%;

The 300 series produced 1.506 million tons, a decrease of 7.4% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 10.3%;

The 400 series produced 507000 tons, an increase of 10.6% month on month and 19.9% year-on-year;

In December, Indonesias crude steel production reached 405000 tons, a decrease of 0.7% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 24.6%; Production in January was 400000 tons, a decrease of 1.2% compared to the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 41.3%.

1、 Production of stainless steel bars

This month, the total production of bar materials by 18 stainless steel factories in China was 202100 tons, a decrease of 8.92% month on month and 7.46% year-on-year. Among them:

1. The production of the 200 series was 8500 tons, a decrease of 19.05% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 73.47%;

2. The production of 300 series reached 173900 tons, a decrease of 9.29% compared to the previous month and 14.04% compared to the same period last year;

3. The production of the 400 series reached 14800 tons, an increase of 0% month on month and 32.14% year-on-year;

4. The production of other special materials reached 4900 tons, a year-on-year increase of 0%.

In December, the overall production of domestic stainless steel bars and steel mills decreased month on month and year-on-year.

2、 Production of stainless steel wire

This month, the total production of wire rods from 18 stainless steel factories in China reached 173700 tons, an increase of 2.36% month on month and 20.46% year-on-year. Among them:

1. The production of the 200 series was 56500 tons, a decrease of 10.57% compared to the previous month and an increase of 73.31% year-on-year;

2. The production of the 300 series reached 101500 tons, an increase of 1.00% month on month and 3.47% year-on-year;

3. The production of the 400 series reached 157100 tons, a decrease of 13.26% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 16.30%.

3、 Stainless steel cold rolling yield

This month, the cold-rolled stainless steel production of 36 domestic companies reached 1.3599 million tons, a decrease of 1.51% compared to the previous month and an increase of 11.19% year-on-year. Among them:

1. The production of the 200 series reached 391500 tons, a decrease of 10.53% month on month and 4.23% year-on-year;

2. The production of the 300 series reached 722500 tons, an increase of 4.94% month on month and 19.48% year-on-year;

3. The production of the 400 series reached 245900 tons, a decrease of 3.42% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 17.37%.

4、 Production of hot-rolled stainless steel plates

This month, the production of hot-rolled steel plates by domestic stainless steel plants reached 1.8192 million tons, a decrease of 0.87% month on month. Among them:

1. 200 series 687000 tons, a decrease of 6.79% month on month;

2. 300 series 866200 tons, an increase of 10.89% month on month;

3. 266000 tons of 400 series, a decrease of 16.05% month on month;
