Brazil imposes anti-dumping duties on 304 and 316 stainless steel seamless pipes from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam

On June 14, 2023, the Management Executive Committee (GECEX) of the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission issued Resolution 602 of 2024, which made the first anti-dumping sunset review final ruling on seamless austenitic 304 and 316 stainless steel pipes (Portuguese: tubos com costura, de a ? o inoxid á vel austenitic í tico, dos graus 304 e 316) originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. It decided to continue to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries for a period of 5 years. The details of the taxation are shown in the attached table. The involved product is austenitic stainless steel pipe with circular cross-section, grade 304 and 316, outer diameter greater than or equal to 6 millimeters (1/4 inch) but less than or equal to 2032 millimeters (80 inches), thickness greater than or equal to 0.40 millimeters but less than or equal to 12.70 millimeters. Related to products under the tax codes 7306.40.00 and 7306.90.20 in the Southern Communist City. This resolution shall come into effect from the date of its publication.

On June 14, 2023, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil issued Announcement No. 22 of 2023, in response to an application submitted by Brazilian domestic enterprise Aperam Inox Tubos Brasil Ltda on January 31, 2023, to initiate the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on austenitic 304 and 316 stainless steel seamless pipes originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The anti-dumping investigation period for the case is from October 2021 to September 2022, and the injury investigation period is from October 2017 to September 2022.
