From June 1 to June 7, the kick-off meeting was held for the first phase of Indonesia CNI ferronickel project, which was jointly contracted by China ENFI and Pt PP, a large Indonesian engineering construction enterprise, marking the official commencement of the first phase of the project.



  CNI is a local private enterprise in Indonesia. It has rich nickel resources in Southeast Sulawesi province. As a representative in response to the Indonesian governments policy of encouraging nickel smelting and accelerating the production of downstream nickel industry chain, CNI nickel development project was included in the list of national strategic projects in Indonesia. After the project is fully completed, it will annually process 3.78 million tons of dry base ore and produce 22% grade Ferronickel, equivalent to 55600 tons of nickel metal per year.



  One 72 MVA electric furnace rkef production line independently innovated by ENFI of China is set in phase I of the project, with an annual output of 13900 tons of nickel metal. When completed and put into operation, it will become the first large rectangular electric furnace nickel iron production line in the smelting field of Indonesia. CNI will also build a high pressure acid leaching (hpal) smelter to produce nickel cobalt hydroxide (MHP) containing nickel metal of 40000 tons / year for the production of new energy batteries.
