During the National Day holiday, Fujian Dingxin Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Qingshan Industry, successfully held the basic design review meeting of the round, plate and square multi-function continuous casting machine project in Fujian Dingxin Industry. The participants listened to the introduction of the project undertaking unit, China National Heavy Industry Design&Research Institute, reviewed the basic design specifications and basic design drawings provided by China National Heavy Industry Design&Research Institute, and fully discussed them. They believed that China National Heavy Industry Design&Research Institute had completed the basic design, with complete data, the whole design was mature and feasible, and the depth, overall parameters, equipment specifications, etc. of the basic design were in line with the contract and technical annexes.



   This project is the first diameter undertaken by China National Heavy Industry Institute Φ 650mm stainless steel round billet caster, and this caster is compatible with the production diameter Φ 160mm stainless steel round billet, 190mmX190mm stainless steel square billet, 300mm X810mm tool/die steel plate billet. Due to the large span of billet, section and steel grade compatible with this caster, the process, equipment and control of the caster are very different from those of conventional casters. The model selection, general layout, determination of key parameters, equipment structure, compatibility, universality, process flow and control system of the continuous casting machine are very difficult for this project. All disciplines of China National Heavy Industry Institute cooperated with each other in good faith. Within less than a month after the contract was signed, the determination of key parameters such as the general layout of the continuous casting machine, the arrangement of rolls, and the secondary cooling solidification calculation was completed, and the basic design of the key equipment of the continuous casting machine was completed.



   The convening of the basic design review meeting of the project marked that China National Heavy Industry Research Institute has made substantive steps in the field of round, plate and square multi-function continuous casting machines, broke through the difficulties in the design of round, plate and square multi-function continuous casting machines at home and abroad, and opened a new situation for the diversification of continuous casting products in the domestic market. This cooperation is the 21st continuous casting machine provided by China National Heavy Industry Corporation for Qingshan Group, and also the first cooperation with Qingshan Group in the field of stainless steel round billet.
