The total inventory of cold-rolled stainless steel was 714913 tons, an increase of 34754 tons or 5.11% over the previous week;

The total inventory of hot-rolled stainless steel was 442306 tons, an increase of 14792 tons or 3.46% over the previous week;

The total inventory of the 200 series was 268835 tons, an increase of 12356 tons or 4.82% over the previous week;

The total inventory of 300 series was 708413 tons, an increase of 39243 tons or 5.86% over the previous week;

The total inventory of 400 series was 179971 tons, a decrease of 2053 tons or 1.13% over the previous week.

Wuxis inventory was 722553 tons, an increase of 129691 tons or 21.88% over the previous week.

Foshans inventory was 421253 tons, an increase of 24448 tons or 6.16% over the previous week.

The inventory of Zibo, Jieyang, Shenyang and Xian was 143104 tons, down 9000 tons or 5.92% from last week.

5、 Market analysis

The Philippines, the worlds second largest nickel supplier, is considering following Indonesias lead in taxing nickel ore exports, which increases the uncertainty of supply. Demand is expected to pick up and the news level is positive, with nickel and stainless steel prices rising mainly after the holiday.

In terms of fundamentals, nickel ore supply is low, and the FOB price of Philippine mines is high. The pure nickel import window is open occasionally, but the limited import is not enough to make the domestic nickel inventory accumulate, and the large-scale production of domestic electric nickel still needs time, so the nickel price is still supported in the recent stage. In terms of stainless steel, last week was the Spring Festival holiday, and the stock resources increased while digestion was limited, so the inventory showed a significant increase. According to the market feedback, the order sales of stainless steel after the holiday are relatively good, and the price is expected to strengthen after the holiday.

After the holiday, stainless steel was affected by the strong expectations of the market, and the futures and spot prices rose. In January, the manufacturing purchasing manager index, the non-manufacturing business activity index and the comprehensive PMI output index were 50.1%, 54.4% and 52.9%, respectively, higher than 3.1, 12.8 and 10.3 percentage points of the previous month. All three indexes rose to the expansion range, and Chinas economic prosperity level rose significantly. The price of stainless steel is expected to run strongly under the favorable macro conditions.

However, affected by the continued crazy rise of ferromolybdenum, the quotation of 2205 stainless steel tube blank, a major supplier of special materials, rose to 37500 yuan/ton yesterday, and the 316L stainless steel round steel was also closed due to the continued sharp rise of ferromolybdenum after rising to 31800 yuan/ton.

Some people are happy and others are worried. The manufacturers who received orders for 2205 and 316L materials last year will not have a problem if they can cut the material in time. If they cant cut the material in time, they will lose thousands of yuan to tens of thousands of yuan per ton. If there are too many orders and they cant buy it in time, the loss will not be small.
