Since the anti-dumping duties levied on stainless steel flat products in Chinese Mainland, Indonesia and Taiwan, China expired on September 15, South Korea POSCO submitted an application for anti-dumping extension review to the government.

On March 13, POSCO submitted to the Industrial Customs Department of the Ministry of Planning and Finance the reexamination application for "anti-dumping duties and letters of commitment for stainless steel flat products in Chinese Mainland, Indonesia and Taiwan, China of China" in accordance with the provisions of Article 56 (1) and Article 70 (1) and (2) of the Tariff Law.

It is reported that POSCO has submitted all documents related to the anti-dumping extension application for stainless steel flat products. According to the anti-dumping review procedure, the review will be considered to start within two months from the date of the request.

After the anti-dumping review procedure is determined, the Industry Tariff Department of the Ministry of Planning and Finance will accept and review the review application, and the Trade Investigation Office of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce will review and recommend initiating the review. This process will take a total of 2 months.

If everything goes according to the procedure, the Ministry of Planning and Finance is expected to decide whether to initiate a review around May 12th. The review will be conducted by the Anti Dumping Investigation Department and the Industry Injury Investigation Department under the Trade Commission of the Ministry of Industry, for a total of about 6 months, with a maximum extension of 4 months for the investigation.

The Trade Commission is expected to make a final decision as early as November 12th, and if the investigation is extended, it will be made around March 12th, 2025.

It is reported that South Koreas anti-dumping duties on stainless steel flat materials imported from the Chinese Mainland, Indonesia and Taiwan, China will be applied retroactively until the final decision of reexamination is issued. Therefore, it is unlikely that any increase in imports will occur during the extended reexamination period.
