The macro recession expectation in the early stage was strong, the negative sentiment was released, and the slope of price decline was large. The oversold ushered in the short-term price rebound and repair. From a fundamental point of view, the contradiction is not prominent. The pressure of loose nickel supply is widening, and the total nickel supply has increased sharply with the release of new nickel iron production capacity in Indonesia. The pattern of nickel excess is relatively clear. The terminal demand for stainless steel is weak, and has not yet seen a recovery. The profit loss of stainless steel is up to 15%. It is expected that steel mills will continue to seek profits from ferronickel plants, and ferronickel prices are expected to continue to be squeezed.

The cost of stainless steel is not supported. The steel plant entered the loss stage, with a loss of about 15%. During the week, the price of ferronickel remained at 1300 yuan / nickel point. We believe that steel mills will continue to squeeze profits from ferronickel mills. It is expected that the price of ferronickel may fall further, and the cost of stainless steel is expected to still fall.

In view of the difficulties faced by the current industry, many steel enterprises, including Shagang Group and China Baowu, have also taken initiatives to adjust the work deployment in the second half of the year and actively respond to new changes in the industry.
